Does anyone know if they make bulbs that are blue to fit into the dome light? or do i have to paint the actual dome to get that nice blue light?
keep it white or you will regret it. Unless they are some powerful ass blue bulbs.
i used a 194 inverted LED, and skyler is right, if you want to see at all inside your car your should stick with the stock bulb. the LED i have is pretty bright but no where near as bright as the stock bulb, it just looks cool with the blue LED in it.

Several Words: Try opening your doors in front of a cop after you do this.
i painted my cover yellow with glass stain. I can still see fine and it give off a yellowish light.
And i dont see why a cop would bother you about a blue dome light.

Why would a cop care??? I am working with an X county sheriff and he stated that no cop would care. I have changed mine and even painted the map light lens and it makes a difference at night. There is no glare from the bright white lights now.

i replaced my dome light with an oval led pod with 6 leds in it, lights up pretty good.

x2. As long as you are not rolling w/. the dome light on, they shouldn't care. Besides, blue and red are easier on the eyes for night driving, takes less time for your eyes to adjust than w/ white therefore = safer (thats why cops have red dome lights)
I've been given fix-it tickets with the threat of being charged for impersonating an officer. (And mine was RED)
I guess it just matters where you live and who you know.

impersonating a cop? was it flashing with blue also? or did you do something to piss the cop off? keep in mind, at night most cops are pissed off when they pull you over.
I have a blue dome light, I think it looks pretty good and I can see just fine with it. I ordered mine from
here.
Actually it's pretty funny, I never had to pay anything tho.
I stopped at Tim Hortons to pick up some donuts, and when I got out they saw it and wrote me up a warning.
I'm dead serious about the donut shop deal.
lol, depends on the state you are in.
I'm working on converting all the bulbs I can into LED conversions, lol. I switched my dome light into this ridiculously bright clusterbulb that is blue. Lights up the interior pretty damn bright, and I drive with it on damn near everytime I'm out at night and I've never run into one issue. I've driven past cops and everything. Cops ONLY have an issue with blue/red lights if the bulb itself is visible. Same thing with my underglows, the tubes aren't visible and cops couldn't care less.
cops shouldnt really care.
now if it was your turn signals, thay are flashing, then they will give you a ticket, if they catch you
(i had blue l.e.d. turn signals that only flashed and never stayed on, i had only one cop give me a warning but no ticket or fix-it ticket!
)
i have red and have had no problems
I know in the state of Georgia (My dad's a cop here, and actually showed me in the book where it says this) that having any blue light in or outside of your car, unless its radio or gauges, is illegal. Thats why when i moved up here i switched to purple cathodes instead of my blues. So again, varies from state to state, and city to city.
You can get something called a lighting gel, it's a sheet of a color that's put over stage lighting to change the color. It's not a gel at all, it's a sheet of plastic like film. I did that with mine in red, just cut a piece to the shape of the dome light. That way you can take it out anytime you want. I've had mine red for a few years and it hasn't faded or anything, this stuff is made to be next to lights way hotter.
On a side note, I used the same stuff behind my clear HVAC knobs so they light up red.
i just used a bulb condom. where can u buy blue leds to go behind the hvac knbobs?

Some of the dome lights in cavaliers have 3(?) bulbs, if yours is like that, then you can do that. It's obvious what you have if you look at it.
I got my bulb from a home depot,
damn i have only the one blub set up
i just used red stained window paint and it looks great. i have never heard anything from the cops and about 3/4 of the cops here dont like me.

So do I, and mine is ridiculously bright. I bought mine off of :

The cluster bulbs work really well. Thats how I've replaced my dome, plate light, trunk light, etc.
nice man nice thanks for the link!! did you have a good shipping with them?
