I am having a probelm with my odometer flashing on and off and now half the tach doesn't light up. I have searched and read the sticky but can't find the answer i need. I have and 02 cav and from whati read the odometer is stored in the BCM thats cool, but what about the passlock issue will the same reet for the 99- work or no? My other option was getting gauge overlays form speedhut they look real nice and that will fix the lightbulb out issue but not the mileage flashing. Before i drop $100 bucks on a new cluster wanna make sure it'll work.thanks in advance.

its the cluster itself. they are known to short. a gauge overlay wont help your odometer problem. an overlay would help for the tach but it wont do anything for the odometer

i know the overlay won't do anything for the odometer is was just a thought i had my main concern is the passlock i don't want to have any issue with my car starting after i replace it.

Well i have come across some useful info. in 00+ cav's the passlock is not stored in the cluster i got bored at work and took the dash off unplugged the cluster and the car still starts and stays running, so anybody wanted to swap clusters its not a problem as far as i can see if i am wrong please let me know.

Just do like alot of ppl do gentle but hard smack to the side or top of your dash/bezel area that usually fixes the problem for a while with the odometer and the tach. It worked for me and now my cluster is working fine. Just some advice to try before you kill your pocket
