So my question is. To install dynamat, (my plan is to install it everywhere) how do i take all the stuff off that needs to come off? that is my question. Let me know guys.
Thanks
Kyle
If you see a screw, unscrew it. If you don't, pull.
ya man...pull everything right down to the bare metal...just make sure not to cover the holes, lol... and put as much as u can anywhere u can...i have close to 300 sq. ft. of it in my car
make sure when you lay it down too that you lay it down in as big of a sheet as possible

?!
I hope you're joking. Using big pieces will promote the chance for air pockets and void any purpose the mat might serve.
^^^^^not tru...the bigger the better..i found using roughly 1.5 ft by 1.5 ft pieces worked best for me.....and make sure u use a heat gun on it before laying it down..
the smaller the pieces, the more chance of air/noise travel. i only used real small pieces in those tough to get spots and around bolts, etc
the size of the sheet won't matter, its how well the sheet is stuck. the sheets work in two ways. 1. by adding weight to the object there by requiring more sound pressure to move the panel. so if you have 10 pieces totalling a pound its the same as having 1 piece that weights a pound. the second way is by absorbing the sound wich if you have the metal completly covered your going to absorb the same energy wether it is 1 or 10 pieces as well. bigger pieces give a cleaner install and will take you less time. just make sure you clean the area your using. use a heat gun to make sure the glue is activated if the damping sheets arent adhered to the metal you losing allof of the sheets best features.

alright, so im lookin at 50 square feet??? will that be enough???
no, and get edead, it is cheaper than dynamat
100sq ft should do the whole car... depending on your overall goal.

edead IMO sux!!! fatmat is only a few dollars more,,,,,and well worth it!! i tried both, and that fake ass edead stuff is terible...i ended up ripping it out and replacing with fatmat....cheaped than dynamat but very good product!!!
and i would suggest 100 sq ft
should only run about $100
so 100 square feet of whatever i decide....wherre are the best places to but it???
best place for Fatmat is ebay.....and its not a distributor...its the actual company selling it on ebay....and they ship quick!!
My bad, I was asking where is the best place to put it??
i removed every single panel in the car, and put it anywhere i seen ANY metal.......
roof, floor, quarter panels, doors, trunk, lid, firewall......EVERYWHERE
Not to jack the thread, but Joey, would you say that it is a good investment?? Did it cut out engine noise and/or improve spl?
And fatmat has the same deadening layer thickness as edead, only it has thicker aluminum so you can cut your hands all up and scream bloody murder. EDEAD FTMFW because it's only 80 bucks for 100sqft compared to fatmat's 100 for 100. Or you can get edead's 60mil stuff for 128 for 100sq ft and completely pwn fatmat! Just trying to get you the best deal. Maybe Eazy got the old edead, the new stuff is superb.
Dynamat FTMFW you cheap ass! Pay a little more and get the best plain and simple. Dont buy half ass to have to buy better later. Ends up more money spent. Plain and simple be like buying a cheap system and then regreting it and having to go buy it better later. Why? Cause you tried to be a cheap ass!
Hello Joey.
Im sorry about your mishap with eDead.
I would first like to say, from seeing your opinion, a am going to assume that used eDead V1 the original asphalt deadener with the thick aluminum backing.
I would like to say. That if you ever had an issue with the product and notified us, we would have gladly warrantied the item for you.
In January of this year we released our ^2 deadeners. The V1^2 and V1SE^2. a 45 mil and 60 mil 100% butyl based rubber deadener.
You dont have the thick aluminum backing that you but your hands with on some other deadeners, and you dont get the tar smell with our new butyl rubber deadener.
Like I said Joey. Im sorry for the mishap.
PowerPlayer If you have ANY questions about the new eDead products, feel free to ask. Our SE^2 deadener is 60 mils thick and butyl based. Dynomat extreme is 67 mils and butyl based...plus dynamat puts thier name on the deadner, +40% cost increase.
Good luck with the deadening job, and have fun with it, Cut the mat into workable peices, I perfer smaller chunks. Its easier to work with, as seen in my eDead thread.

As a side not aswell...you dont need to to use a heat gun or blow dryer with a high quality butyl product vs. an asphalt deadener.
