ok got the gauges in last night and everything worked. so no problems there. so i wired the positive wire to the brown wire so it will come on with the head lights. turned on headlights and boom nothing. pressed the button to turn it on and it came on.
so i left it on and removed the switch that came with it (just disconnects off) and it stayed on. so i turned off the headlights and tried it again... flipped headlights on and it still didnt come on.
so i grabbed my wire cutter and cut the plug off. touched the 2 wires together that were on the switch and it came on. took em apart and it stayed on, touched them again and it turned off...
im so confused about how im going to get this to work. does anyone have any clues.
is it a lighted switch?, if so im thinking you may have wired it wrong into the switch.
what do u have it grounded to??
im confused even reading that, lol
nevermind i got it figured out...
and eazy i bet your not as cunfused as i was writing it...
ill post a how to for anyone else with the problem.
glad to hear u got it fixed up...what ended up being the issue?
the switch always wanted to be pressed. so by touching the 2 wires together was like turning it on. so what i did was take both of the 2 wires that came from the switch wired them to the positive wire... and touched a 12 volt source. through the process of elimination i was able to find the one that made it come on with the 12 volt source... not too hard just confusing
I'm new here but I had the same problem. I wired it to the cigarette lighter so when I pushed it in the gauge lights came on. Kinda cool at first but the gauges started not to come on and stick on so I ripped them out and got some silver face gauges from BCC.
well i got the problem fixed like said i just havent got time to go out and snap pics. too rainy
