stock sliders with new seats

ok so i searched and got mixed reviews on whether using the stock sliders on an aftermarket seat will make the seat sit higher. cant i just knock off those metal spacers on the sliders and then the seat will sit lower either ways? ive used seats with aftermarket sliders and they tend to break and thought it would be nice to use the stock ones. any answers would be appreciated, thanks

i welded a set of Otto-r seats to a set of stock tracks. it worked fine, i chopped of the risers and the seat still sat a little higher then stock. id say about 3/4 of an inch. i used 2 driver tracks just because they felt more solid, and where easy to weld to.

I got some seats from Ebay (cheap I know, but fairly comfortable) and used the stock slider. Like SUPERFASSSSTZ said, they sit about 3/4 and inch higher than stock but it's not too noticeable. My seats were the same width as the stock but slightly shorter mounting points so I ended up using some custom made brackets to make up for the difference. Taking the spacers out is a must otherwise you'll be over an inch higher and it becomes more noticeable. I prefer the stock brackets since their designed for the car and they already have the seatbelt connecter attached to them (no need to modify new brackets). There was a write up about making your own bracket adapter but you'd have to decide on what you do.

Randy,

With some time, Scott in Austin can fabricate some, ask him @ the December show if you go...

You can use the stock sliders.

You must make a custom bracket, and yes it makes the seats about a 1/2 inch higher. Not sure about the medal spacers, I left mine in.
