Will a ecotec motor fit into the trunk/backseat of a cavalier?

Let me start off by saying I'm not really sure where this should be so if it's in the wrong place then could a mod please move it to the correct forum for me.

Well my question is will a BARE ecotec motor fit into the backseat or the trunk of a 2000 cavalier sedan to be transported? I know it sounds like a weird/stupid question but I really just need to know. I've heard of it being done before but can't find anyone or any pics of it actually being done. I don't have an engine right now to go and measure so that is why I am asking. I was thing maybe like in the trunk w/ the spare and jack removed, or possible the rear with the bench seat removed (either would be on top of some wood). I figured I would put this up here because if it doesn't fit I would rather find out now instead of after a few hours of driving. I know this might sound like an stupid idea to some, but at this time it's our only option. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

friend of mine picked up an eco for free and hauled it in his 02 cavalier trunk. stock suspension on the car, while the engine was in the trunk, it looked like a sportline drop in the rear.

my suggestion = take out your passanger seat and set it there. removing that seat makes a HUGE empty spot. I've taken out my passanger seat to haul around my PA system and guitars and amps. I've actually fit a full PA and a full drumset in my car with enough room to see perfectly out my rear window. :-)
