so yea. ive been reading alot of posts about fiberglassing the dash. alot of people have said you shouldnt do it because of all the fitment issues and stuff. i was wondering if there was a way i could cover up the cigarette lighter hole, since i dont smoke. and if so how would i do that? also, with the head unit, theres that small like hole on ethe bottom to put your stuff in, but its pointless because the @!#$ just falls out anyway, so i was wondering if it was possible to fiberglass to cover the opening, and then maybe molding the cavalier symbol in the middle.
let me know what you think about my idea and how hard it would be. i have an extrra dash, so it wouldnt matter if i messed it up anyway.
also, another one of my ideas was for the rear speakers. i was thinking about making a fiberglass mat, and then have both of my 6 x 9 speakers popping out angled wit the window. tell me what you think about that, and how i would go about making a fiberglass mold.
Thiers not really another "NICE" way to cover up the cigerette lighter without fiberglassing. but their are a few things you can put in place of it. some people have put a gauge their, which looks pretty nice. i put a button their but will be changing it to a push button start soon. as for fiberglassing the chevy logo in the bezel, its doable but personally i think itd look outa place.
my first glass project was to shave the cig lighter. i got an extra bezel to try on and it was pretty easy to learn.
thats where i started also and ended up with a 7.2" tv in there
GO FOR IT!
have like..any steps to help me out.
should i just fiberglass the hole thing, or just fiberglass the hole?
if someone has some small directions..just post on how they did it.
