As the topic states I want a charcoal headliner to match the rest of the interior. My car currently has the tan headliner. Will the "spray paint" dye work an hold up if I use it on my car. Also does anyone know if there was a dark headliner in the 00-05 Cavs, I also have a factory sunroof so I'm concerned about that as well.

get a dye, ive seen it before and it looks fine.
ive often wondered this myself, i have never seen a stock graghite WITH sunroof headliner.
i am just going to have an apulstry shop re-cover mine in the correct color (graghite) they said it would be about $50
anybody know if you have to take the acctual sunroof out to get the sunroof cover (peice that slides) out?
I have never found a charcoal head liner, and I have looked for YEARS.
I am finally going to brake down and dye it this summer.

My old '96 Z had one.
However my past 2 Z's without moonroofs haven't. Luckily on my new car, my good buddy Kevin had a mint condition charcoal headliner laying around I grabbed from him. It even has a sweet ass pocket in the middle for junk.
yea guess dying is my thing then

Dyed mine - looks great. Will try to find the pics I posted...
I have a sunroof as well and the dye even works great on that rubber trim piece that goes around the inside.
I don't think I had to pull the actual sunroof out to do this - the slider is easy enough to get out of teh car. More on that later if you need help
(runs off to find the pics)
I need to also re glue the driver side corner on the slider where the fabric is peeling off

that sunroof liner is SICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i had to re-open the link because i was too envolved with looking at the slider to care about the dyed headliner!!!!!! WOW!!!!!
95-98 cars with sunroofs were graphite.
i died mine but i hated how crunchy it was so i got mine rewrapped at an upholstery shop. It shouldn't cost more then $100 or so i got mine done for $60 CDN including materials and it looks great!
^ In that case I could use both graphite visors!
I'll pay for em with the bumper lights if you run across any
.
see i knew when i went to the junkyard and they had 8 cav and sunfires with graphite headliners they were something rare.. thats why theve all been removed and sold lmao
both of my J's have graphite headliners. i have a non sunroof one in my cavi that came from a z24 that i got from SpeedRacerZ and my sunfire has a graphite with sunroof headliner.

I guess I'm gonna search my dads friends yard when I go to get a set of factory door speakers, I might just see if there are any charcoal sunroof cars there.

Check yards for pre-2k Cavi/Fires.. that should be the best batch to pick from.
i have a friend who found one also. but i didn't go that route, i had mine (along w/ the visors and sunroof panel) recovered by a shop, but it was definitely more expensive.

I never did understand that, that was part of the reason why I almost didn't buy my 02 Fire, because of the tan headliner. Why would GM make the interior of the car completely smoke grey/graphic, but make the headliner and visors tan? Just does not make sense to me.

because the lighter colore headliners and trim piece give the impression that the interior is bigger, darker colors tend to make the interior feel more smaller. and when your in a small car they want to make it appear as large as possible.
i happen to have a graphite headliner with sunfroom out in the garage as we speak....

What snsgood said.
That was the first thing I noticed when i swapped to the black. It did feel a lot smaller in there.
