Hello everyone.
Name's Joel, just recently picked up an '02 Sunfire, 4 door, power-nothing. Anyways, I'm (slowly) doing some minor stuff on the interior, until spring arrives so that I can work outside in some warmth. I'm now at the steering wheel. I got a sharp-looking APC aluminum /l eather wheel (and yes, I did buy the adapter kit
), but first, I need to take off the airbag module. The Hayne's manual made it look like a two-second affair - bolt on the left, bolt on the right. That isn't the case however. The bolts are spring-loaded. The right side bolt let go without a hitch, but the left bolt refuses to let go of the airbag assembly after over an hour of tugging, twisting, trying to relieve pressure on the spring with a precision screwdriver. Nothing. Has anyone done this, and could provide a few pointers on how to get the blasted thing off?

2002 Sunfire -->
- Ractive steering wheel
- ASA 17" EM9 + Nexen N5000 215/45/17 (steelies for winter)
- D-Spec Lowering kit @ 1.4" (issues currently
)
- Rockford P250.1 + MTX MZS1004 + Panasonic CQ-C8313U head unit
- Barely legal tint.
I beat the crap out of it, and took it off in chunks, lol. I'm sure there's a better way though
