recovering interior panels need help???

hey guys im wanting to recover my interior panels in my car mainly the big plastic panels in the back around the quarter glass in a coupe i was thinking carpet and i bought some its just realy think and stiff way to hard to work with just wondering if anyone had any ideas of some material to use im doing it in white i also want to do the back shelf under rear glass!! any suggestions would be great thanks alot!!

and even with a stretchy material youll still likely need to sew around the armrest hump under the window to get it looking nice without wrinkles.

is twed realy expensive, and i havent got to the door panels yet just the big plastic ones under the quater glass

He was referring to the back panel's armrest. Tweed isn't too expensive. Yourautotrim.com has it for $12-$13/yard.

just go to your local upholstery store. We have one here in detroit (acutally we have many), they have rolls and rolls of all different kinds of upholstery fabrics, with all different strechin abilitys, etc. Also, use a heat gun, and spray glue for weird/deep shapes.
