Tenzo v-5 horn wireing??????
Saturday, January 13, 2007 1:21 AM
I have looked at this thread and read it countless time trying to prepare for my wheel. Well there is one problem I have 2 prongs non are marked what they are - or + so how do I wire mine up????? Plus what size bolts are holding the steering wheel in an dwhat size is the steering wheel bolt? Do I need a deep socket and can I use a nut driver on the bolts for the air bag? I need to know so I can buy the right tools to do this.

You already knpw I gave up on the horn for now, but it makes sense for the ground wire to stay constant (outer contact) and the positive to complete the circuit upon pressing the button (inner contact) no? The wheel nut is actually the same size as a sparkplug socket and the airbag bolts are allen key (Can't recall size right now).

You know that thing that you broke... umm... the clockspring ......... well theres a little c-clip that holds that into place, no need to break it there cowboy

My clockspring looks like that also! Haha, I had already sold the bags, so I figured @!#$ it, I found the c-clip after the carnage. I must say pulling a c-clip and having it come off would've been boring as hell.

I don't think my horn will ever work, the plastic piece from the airbag that twisted into the column with the wire, well the plastic piece it locks into broke when I pulled the bag....and I imagine you'd need that piece.

When I take it off again to do the air bag resister I will take detailed pics on what I did to make it work.

Meckster yeah I noticed that after I snapped it off

yea, i riped that black thingy out of mine too. supposedy theres a "snap" feature but i never found it.

how can you not see the snap ring.....

its right on top of the thing on the steering shaft, right inside the yellow part

only reason im really saying anything is because if you ever wanna go back to the stock wheel and airbag, you just broke a pretty expensive piece.

The piece that the red power wire locks into, broke on my POS, so I'm stuck doing it some alternative way. Need to find a way to tap into that same signal I suppose!

I imagine I'll find the wire along the column somewhere.

If your talking about the white piece of plastic I removed mine. Then jammed the spring with wire down in the hole and wedged a ball of tape in there to hold it down. The white plastic thing wouldnt fit with the hub adapter.

Nah this piece where you originally slid the piece down, and rotated it, when I first removed the airbag, I twisted it to release it and the locking portion broke. So I finished it off.

I'm sure I can connect to the same signal somewhere else and ground a Jason said, and be all set-
