Since im making a false floor im kinda curious how other people have done it...how do you get the top sheets to stay down and yet have them carpeted?if i carry it out onto the rear seat delete how do you connect a sub box?? phil
Joey Baggs if you want a False Floor. You can get a template and them change it to the way you want it.
Just got mine in for the trunk the other day, using his template.
(i have a in progress picture in the photo's section)
...
^^thanks Stenger.
do you have a pic of what you are trying to accomplish? im a little confused as to what exactly u want done. im sure i could help you out if needed.
Ok going tobe doing setup similar to a memberithink his name is du-tang i tht nice box the back seat area. Well i know the better the box is connected to the car the more vibrations you will feel. So i want to raise the ffloor like a normal falso floor and then build the box up from there very much like du - tang did...phil
im still a little confused what you are asking. are you planning to fiberglass a box to it? or just add one on top of the pre-built false floor? and are you asking how to secure the flor or the box?
Joey you should be a rich man by now with those templetes, seems like everyone wants a false floor but is havin a hell of a time makin it lol. by the way thanks for the comment on mine the other day.
i want to make a flat surface ie a normal falso floor and then put a box on top if it..but i want to make sure it is attached to the car well..thats what im having issues with..phil
ok, now i got ya.
well. if you really want it super solid, tou could build a "sub frame brace" if you will. basically trace the contour of the metal tubs where the rear passengers would sit if the bench was there, and measure up to how high the floor is and attach in the center. almost like a beam support. then bolt in the structure to the metal area where the seat back would be. build your box and bolt it with L brackets to the false floor, and walah...done
so i guess id have to drop the tank to drill the holes eh
depends. ill bet theres somewhere in there where you could get away without dropping the tank. ill look around mine tonight for ya
if your doing a big fiberglass sub box best bet is to fiberglass the bottom of the box to match the rear seat floor this way it is formed and your box wont have to be so huge. allot of waisted space if you go thru and make a flat surface and then add a box on top. plus if you form fit it by fiberglassing the bottom it will sit in there more secure and you could just have a wood backing towards the trunk with some angle brackets screwed into the false floor in your trunk.

yah i thought about that it really depends on what sub or subs i end up using in the long run..the current one i have fusion jonah lomu likes small boxes so it only needs like 2-3 cuft but i might change it to 2 of something..maybe the alpine type x's or something..havent decided yet..phil
