Anybody have an extra one in good working order? My wife's Cav is having some trouble with the HVAC control not working. The knob on the end (the one that selects which vents are used) is acting really weird. All of the selections have the same effect and when you turn it all the way to the defrost setting, both the A/C light and the rear defrost lights come on.

Is this a difficult replacement? I have plenty of experience under the dash of Cavs and a good wiring knowledge...

I can pay via PayPal right away or do a trade - please PM me. She's gonna drive me nuts until it's fixed because she can't defrost her windshield.

If this belongs in Maintenance or something, please move it, along with my apologies.

i actually have a similar problem. would it be the HVAC controls that i would need to fix? my fan control knob only works on it's highest setting and it won't work in medium, low, ect.. i found a could HVAC control's around a local scrap yard but i'm not sure if it's the wiring or the control it's self. anyone else have this problem?

Yeah I've been keeping an eye on eBay but so far they just have them for older Cavs...

awesome, thanks evens. might take a while but, when it's nicer out i'm headin to the scrap yard. hey anyone ever tried installing a windshield wiper on the rear window? i think i'm gonna find an old integra and take the wiper motor and fab some stuff to make it fit. alot of wiring though.

i was thinking about that idea myself. it would have to be mounted to the roof. i don't want to go drilling holes until im totally sure it will fit.

just from looking at cars all day, im thinking a mini van or SUV rear wiper set up would work best.
