Ok im in ny can i get ticketed or not pass inspection for haveing a sparco steering wheel?(no airbag)

I live in NC, and I don't have any air bags, passes inspection fine...
I'm pretty sure it's illegal in any state as you're defeating a safety device. But some states enforce it where others might not. Best thing is if you're concerned about it, don't do it. At the worst, if you're in an accident your insurance company might not cover you because you defeated the airbag system.
