I was wondering what other years have the same door panels as an 03? (other than 04, 05) Its a crank window if that matters. I'm selling my J and I need to replace my painted door panels. Same question with the dash. What other years can I look at to fit? I'm going to the junk yard this weekend.

so you're saying that the top dash pad off a 00-05 which is solid plastic will fit in the 95-99 witht he vinyl dashes?
I think they are saying
2000-2005 are the same
and
1995-1999 are the same
not that all are the same

So how do you remove the door panels? I want to paint the plastic directly behind the interior door handle, but I dont know how to get it apart to take it out...
Anyone? Please?

^^^ i believe 5 screws around the lower edge of the panel, 2 in the interior handle, take the mirror cover off, take the manual window crank(in manual) off, pull from the bottom to pop out the plastic pins, and lift. thats basically it.
the piece u wanna paint is rivoted on, but you can tape off and paint it

How do you take window crank off?
A tool from a hardware store? Canadian Tire?
any other way to get it off?

i took an old knife and bent it and use that, but you can get a tool from any autozone/advanced auto, etc for under $10. it will make the job much easier. the clips that hold the cranks on are horse-shoe shaped clips. careful not to lose them, they tend to fly out and get lost easy
what is the tool called cause i went to auto zone and the guy said he never herd of a tool to take the horse shoe pin out so i had to use a fork and thats a pain in the ass
i cant say ive ever been to an autozone where they actually know what they're talking about. i wouldnt take his word, thats for sure. not sure around u, but autozone you'll never get a correct answer. advanced auto on the other hand is pretty good. they usually know their stuff.
ill see if i can dig up the exact name and part #
but in autozones, its usually in the same isle as the replacement handles, mirrors, etc

sorry, best i could find at the moment. ill still try and see if i can find it on the autozone website...no luck yet
Sorry... I dont really understand how to use that... if I can't find it, I read some guys used a fork... What should I be doing behind that handle? there's just a clip holding it on?

its not that hard and you dont need to remove the mirror cover. they sell the tool at autozone, thats where i got mine but its a pretty useless tool. a butter knife or flathead works the same.
in order to get the crank off, turn the crank til the handle points straight up. pull back on the window handle and you'll be able to see down between the panel and the handle. you'll see the C clip and you can just pop it off by pushing it in either direction. point the window handle up makes the opening of the C clip straight up.
