oopsie...thought I was in the maintenance spot....posted my post in the wrong place...please dont hate. lol. i haven't posted in a long time either. but if anyone could still answer that....id appreciate it.
welp. ill tell you i have the same problem. and i DO NOT know what it is yet. nor do i care. lol.
I have the same problem and it's been there for about eight months... I'll find out what it is on that next sharp turn though...
I have it too. I figured it was that my steering column needed some lube, or just something in there is rubbing. I think I am going to replace my column anyways so I get tilt wheel. Assuming the replacement doesn't have same issue if the noise goes away we will know for sure. I'll let you guys know when I do it
Mine's done that as long as I've had the car, 3 1/2 years, never had a problem steering. *shrug*
Well I did add power steering fluid, since it was way below the C mark, but that still didn't do anything. As long as my steering wheel doesn't come off, then im happy. lol. It's just annoying in a way. But do post up what could be the prob if anyone figures it out. And I will do the same if I ever get to it. Its just too cold to go out there and really check anything. But it could be just cold. But i doubt it.
Mine has been like that for at least 4 years.

If this noise is the light whine heard when turning the wheel (not very loud), this is usually caused by the upper pinion bearing seal in the rack. Yes, I know it sounds like it's near the steering wheel, but it isn't! The only way to get rid of the noise is to replace the seal. The rack has to be removed to replace it and the only way to get the seal is to buy the kit which includes the seal, bearing, c-clip and lube. Most people choose to live with it.
would that be something the dealership would have to replace because of the racks recall in certain year cars?
Thanks for letting me know. It is a very light whine. Weirdly it sounds cool, but at times annoying. lol. But is this something that MUST be fixed eventually; like will other things happen because of not fixing it? I know some people have had it for 4 years or more so im guessing its not that big of an issue. just as long as nothing causes my car to fall apart, i'll be happy with it and when i feel like it i'll have it fixed.
