ok i searched but couldnt find a anwser. ok i have a 98 cavalier with 3sp auto with the cluster that doesnt have a tach. i can get a cluster the same year with tach but is out of i five speed. so would it fit with out any problems or should i just find one from a 3sp that was a tach?

put the cluster in and just swap the 3spd for a 5spd lol.

i'm not very well educated when it comes to this stuff (so you might wanna wait till you get an answer from someone who knows what they're talking about), but i don't see where it cause problems. tachs just register rpm's right? and if you can put aftermarket ones in with no problem why would putting a stock one in be any different?

You won't have a problem, but you won't have a gear indicator. I would keep an eye out for the cluster from an auto.

would that work the other way around? can i put a cluster w/ a tach auto on a 5 speed?

don't see why not. and if you do the 5spd tach on an auto you'll still have the indicator on the shifter console

If anyone is intrested, I have one of these for sale.

I had a 3spd, and I got a cluster w/ a tack out of a 4spd and it worked fine. The only thing that was different was the gear indicator. Park, driver, and reverse were fine,

It also has a white face reverse glow kit, and a chrome guage bezel on it. This cluster looks down right amazing. I had this in my car till i sold my car and I got nothing but "wow"s from it. I had the guage face and the needels calibrated professinally so everything works perfect.

I would let it go for around $80+ shipping. I paid $80 for the cluster, $30 for the guage faces, $10 for the chrome trim, and another $80 for the calibration. It is worth $200 but I will let it go for $80. Willing to neg. on price also, I need to sell it asap
