I was wondering if a 00 console with power windows/5 spd is interchangeable with a 95-99 z console 5spd? im wanting to put a 00+ console in my 97 Z but dont know if everything will line up. Thanks
should be. I went the more difficult way and did a Sunfire Console swap. I find it to me more comfortable to rest your arm on when driving

cool...my main concern is if the plug in for the windows will work? I figure the holes will line up..so mainly im concerned about the wiring for the windows.
i dunno about the plug, but i do know that the console will fit. you will need the metal bracket under it tho.

the one under the console in the front. where there is this screw, it bolts to that bracket holding the front of console
I didn't use the bracket when I swapped to the Sunfire console. But it fits in so damn tight, it doesn't move even when you push on it.
The electrical should be fine. Worse case you can just put your power window switches in that console. Thats what I had to do because I got one with out power options. However, the Cavalier switches were a little more narrow compared to the Sunfire area to mount them in.

i dunno about the sunfire, i never took it out of mine but on my Z, i had to take the bracket from the 00 one.

reason for the bracket is to have it straight and line up. if you just put a 00+ console in the 95-99 (cavaliers at least) without swapping the bracket, the console will sit slightly crooked and the bolt behind the shifter is no where near to lining up.

i have a question around the same lines as this one to. im not sure what years it is but the cavi or sunfire consule with the two cup holders in front of the shifter im looking to find on of those. i have a 97 z24 auto that i wanna put the 5spd consule with the two cup holders in.... i wanna make it look like a 5spd and i like cup holders haha any one no if that will come anywhere near fitting ????
