my interior is a wreck...

i know it sounds like a personal problem... im working on redoing my interior now and im having a few reserves/problems with finishing it...

right now im running stock speakers and everything is OEM.

i want to put new speakers in the doors and new speakers/subs in the trunk
i have put some thought into it and would like some suggestions for this set-up
4x6 door speakers. i want mids and highs in this set because i want to be able to hear the words and have the bass loud at the same time. (suggest good mid/high brand? i was thinking kenwood. please not JL audio i dont have that much money)
6x9 rear speakers. im looking for mid to low range with very clear sound. (suggestions?)
Subwoofer i dont want an enormous stereo because i dont want my car to sound like a tin can. im thinking ONE twelve inch sub. just something to get the bump goin. any favorite subs and amp combos?

HERE is the REAL reason for this post.
before i put in my stereo i want to stop the doors, trunk, dash, and rear deck from vibrating with the bass.. are there any good ways to keep the vibration down?

i have manual windows which vibrate too, im not to worried about that, im planning on some thin foam piece glued to the handle behind the cranking knob to keep the two pieces apart.
dont know how to stop the rest of the door vibration though.

please help me out. im tired of people saying, dude your stereo is vibrating the door handle...

ALSO. i guess i need to fiddle with my dash again to get that to fit snug, but i painted it and now the dash vibrates and it didnt use to... maybe i just need to tighten up some screws?

thanks guys.

as far as the door panels get ur self some dyno mat sound deadner apply to the entire metal door behind the panel if u want apply some to the panel itself. check all ur screws for the dash make sure they are tight. i remember when mine rattled then got bored and matted the doors the floor the trunk walls/floor/lid and even the roof if cut the tin can noise out and my bass had to be toned down cause the bass stayed inside the car and does not bleed outside the car anymore. i went a little far apply where u want but on the doors will stop the panl from rattles.

so sound deadener is the best way to fix it? im mainly worried about the doors, but also about the rear dash... it jumps from the stock speakers...

Dynomat works wonders and so does adding rubber grommits (think of a small rubber spacer) to the troublesome squeaky dash areas. Rather than the trim vibrate on each other the rubber absorbs alot of the impact. And alot of base will do more than make your rear deck jump it will flex upward, your vision will get blurry, the side mirrors will slowly move out of alignment and your chest feels short of breath. Mucho bass is awesome but I'm moving more towards quality of sound now like you..

yeah im not all about the bass, but i like hearing the low low bass... im trying to get only like a 500 watt sub.... something to bump, yet not cause my heart to stop between thuds. could i run some foam tape on the top of my dash and sandwich that between the spaces? i think i have a way of not making it look really ghetto, i just wanna make sure the dash will fit back on top of it...

back to the rear deck... irony, ive seen some peoples bass bumps knock the trunk seals loose causing water to be able to seep in everytime the bass hits. im not trying to get that all rediculous... i just want it clean back there, and to have something simple that sounds good... i hate my friends mustang because its running like 4000 watts right now... you cant talk to anybody when its on, your voice vibrates with the bass, you get a terrible back ache from your seat hitting you, and your deaf when you get out. i think he needs to learn to turn it down a bit, but thats just me.

if you just want good crisp base but not enough to make your head feel like its going to explode use dynamat or fatmat and get a good set of speakers. i work at an autobody shop and we get high end cars in everyday and everyone and awhile we get them totaled and i will take all the jbl, bose, or infinity speakers out of them i have 8 bose speakers n my cavi and its perfect for me a friend of mine found a set out of a bmw at the salvage yard for 75 bucks for 6 speakers and did it that was to its also nice becuase it keeps the weight down of heavy sub and boxes, but thats just me its all personal preferense of what you like!!
