HVAC Problem!!! HELP!!

ok, i'm not really a fool when it comes to wireing stuff up...but what the hell....i got my HVAC glow gauges today...
these are what i got...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=013&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&viewitem=&item=230105332325&rd=1,1

so i took them out, took off the stock cover, put the glowing ones on, and then went ti wire it up......

now it had a nice little like plug in thing for some kinda plug (not cig lighter, just a small thing that look like it was going to be pluged into something)

after looking for a while and not finding anything that it wold plug into...i figured, well maybe it wires up to the lights that glow behind the stock one...so i tried wireing it up to that

the pos and neg wires werent labled, so i had to kinda guess, and i tried each wire on pos...(like wire 1 on pos and wire 2 on neg.....then wire 1 on neg, and wire 2 on pos)

the gauge didnt light up....so i was like wtf....i was getting agervated, and my friend was bored off his ass and hungry, so we just left to go get food....i emailed the company, and asked how exactly it was to be wired, and am waiting for a reply....

do you guys have any ideas?? maybe someone has one of these installed

The second wire is ground, you splice one wire to the cigerette, and the other one u need to use electrical tape and tape it against metal...

I got a glow gauge recently. It was for my instrument cluster. The gauge wire had a little black plug about /14 inch in size. The plug fit into the supplied ballast transformer wiring. If yours came with a plug on it I am betting you were supposed to get a ballast transformer. I guess the bezel doesn't run off 12 DC. Not sure what it is but from the shock i got when I touched the back of the switch i'd say its pretty high voltage.

Here is a link the an identical overlay to the one I purchased. It even shows the ballast in the picture and you can see the little plug in the upper right corner of the ballast harness. Is that the plug you had?

I bet your just missing the ballast

yea, i cant really tell what the plug looks like in that pic....but thats about the size of mine......problem is why did the company not send the transformer, or w/e....

i checked the site and it even says "The High Bidder will recieve the glow gauges, the inverter, and all necessary wireing"

but when i got the gauges, it was in like a "heavy duty" envelope from UPS.....so.....it was deff too thin to hold an inverter.....so what the hell??

It sounds like they short shipped you then. The inverter is just a 1 inch cube sized block, not very big. Contact the seller. They will probably just ship you a new kit
