LED's in Autometer gauges..
Sunday, April 08, 2007 3:59 PM

Anyone have any night pics of how much light adding LED's to their gauges add's? I want to see if its going to be worth getting the Ultraviolet 5-way leds from Superbright leds.com, because i will have 7 Ultra-lite series gauges in my car when its done, they are white face and I'm sure everyone knows what blacklight (uv) and white looks like together.

...or i am just going to stick to doing everything in Blue. Just trying to gather some info to see if the extra few bucks per led is going make it worth it for me. Thanks in advance.

I have the silver ultra-lite's and my 5 ways from superbright should be showing up tomorrow. I already swapped my whole cluster with them, so I ordered matching for the pillar gauges. I'll post ASAP once installed. Red though.

I think they'll definately be worth it.

Joe, thats exactly what i am looking for and planning on doing, just with a different color of course. I'm no where near my car right now, and i could have sworn the Ultra-lite series were white backgrounds, not silver( maybe i am wrong)...But anyways I Can't wait to see the pics.

Philly D. - I know they make LED bulbs for their gauges, but if you use their part # they want like 9 bucks for a single one of their bulbs everywhere i have looked. Superbrightleds have a 5 angle bulb, but should illuminate them more than a standard single LED.

Mine are the Pro-Comp/Ultra-lite which=silver (aluminum), Phantom=white if I recall.....

Anyhow, I got the gauges installed in the Lotek, the top gauge is going to be the SW shift light so I'm waiting on that, but here's the results thus far with the 5-way LED's throughout...pic made them orange, they're a nice red in person-

Dome light with 3 white 5-ways-

Also have the trunk/license plate with the white 5-ways.

Looks nice. That pic makes me want to change mine out for amber bulbs.

I have those in my girls Jetta GLI and I love them. One did blow after one week, but the new one hasn 't had any problems for 2 months so far. I have blue 5 LED for my car, but not yet to buy the gauges.
