You don't have to but its recommended. I'm using my aftermarket seats on stock brackets, I hate it because they're freakin high and I don't wanna cut the stock brackets. Still waiting on someone to make me some.
you could use brackets that are made for the seats that you are purchasing or you could make your own...
as a matter of fact I have some for sale in the classifieds...
