hey. I am going to tint my rear window myself. I have bought the tint at wal-mart today, and have read the instructions but i would also like to hear from you guy's on what i should do and not try and do. This is my first time doing it and like for it to turn out a pretty good job. thanks
I tried tinting my back window on my 05 cav and it didn't turn out very good. There's a lot off curves in the window to deal with.If I was you, I'd take and get it done.

actujally theres hardly any curves... you want curves, try tinting a beretta back window
i sugguest not even trying, i tried doing a completly straight back window (my 95 grand prix sedan) and it turned out like crap... and ive done a lot of tinting-mostly side windows and small curved windows. back windows are serioiusly a BIOTCH... and if you've never done tint at all, its a safe bet to say you'd be better off paying the $70 or so to get it done. the 1/4 windows on a 3rd gen J are simple as hell, just make sure you clean the window extremely well.
Yeah take it to a shop if you want it to look good at all, otherwise the diy kits look pretty bad, even when its a good job putting them on you cant do anything about most bubbles in them. You also get other benefits when going to a shop like I got a full lifetime warranty, free removal, etc. You won't regret doing this, it mad my car look so much better, but also cooler in the summer.
I agree. I wouldn't even try, especially if I've never done tint before. It's well worth the money spent to get it done.
Think about that car you saw with the purple, bubbly tint on the back window that was peeling.
That will most likely be you, my friend.
i wont suggest tinting anything like said above if you never done it before. even if you never done it, id suggest atleast doing one of the side windows. the rear is going to be a bitch with the dot matrix, the defrost lines and the fact that your going to need more than 1 sheet so lining it up is going to be difficult.
