Re-Upholstering Seats

I was wondering how hard it would be to re-upholster/Cover a set of 2000 Cavalier Front Seats. Has anyone had experience doing this? I have access to some heavy duty sewing machines. I would Rather not have my Seats out for very long (I take my girl about everywhere) but The Pass could be out for a day or two to get the template. Also, What Fabric would you all Recommend?

what experience do you have with upolstering? ive done allot of wrapping of various items and i still would let a pro do seats. unless you really know what your doing chances are its going to look bad.

Alright. Thank You. I think I'll try to make some covers that'll just wrap around but be removable if they look crappy. I want them to look reupholstered but still be removable. Than you again for your help

Just go to Pep Boys and get a couple of Seat Covers for about forty bucks. If you want that reupholstered look, just sew on a back that goes all the way under the seat.

I saw on DIY, the only time i ever watched DIY in fact, You can get seat covers and with a special tool, you can pretty much do it yourself. It didn't seem too too hard to do. Making your own however seems like too much. If anything i would pull the stock stuff off and use them as a template if you want to make your own. Does anyone know any places that sell covers that fit cav seats?

If you have a good machine and actuall experience isn't not hard. YOu do need at least one completely taken apart seat to template all the patterns. But I'll tell you this, the cavy seat is just like 5 pieces of fabric and you are going to have to clue the new cover to the seats to get that sea shell look.
