I have gunmetal mirror tint on the back triangle windows. Is it safe to add another layer of tint to darken it up or will it not stick?
if you have it professionally done you should be ok...if you're trying to do it, you'll prolly ruin both layers or end up with alot of bubbles. or both
just dont.
get it redone. It will be worth it in the long run.
ive seen this done numerous times. i have a bunch of freinds that have done this to there trucks. they ended up with SOME bubbles on the inside with the tint they layed over. but from the outside you would NEVER be able to tell that there are bubbles. i dont know how it would ruin the other layer. but tint isnt my thing. im just telling from experience.
^^^people who have never done tint and try it...especially over other tint 95% of the time ruin the original layer.
Ok. Thanks for the replies. I'm an experience tinter, but I never attempted this. I'll just do the windows all over again. It's no problem.
^^if you're experienced, then it shouldnt be an issue. might as well try it out if your gonna rip it out anyways to re-do it
i have 2 layers of 35 on my 2 front windows, no bubbles. the reason being, is the legal limit here for the fronts is 35%, my guy would'nt do 5% cus of that, but he put the second layer on with the agreement that he didn't do it if the cops said anything, and if they did, i wold only have to peel off the one layer.
BIKER COPS CAN BE SUCH D!CKS AT TIMES (X2)
why do 2 layers? why not go 5% and be frickn done with it?
my windows are the old skool non-gay-ass-gold-tint-looking-llumar and are DARKER THEN NIGHT. i love them. 5%

5% here with a tint band on the front. Illegal here in texas but seriously, WHO CARES? There is alot more things theyre worried about around here. Plus, why can they ride all blacked out but we cant?

lol. Here in TN the police don't care about your tint. It isn't enforced. We have people around here that are 100% all around 2% tint, including the entire front windshield.
Front Windshield
I see people with 5% in CT, and the cops will pull u over.
I have 15% (30 or 35 is legal) Mine are as black as my car, i bought it this way, it came from RI. Im just lucky it was done by a pro, its good work, no bubbles, straight cuts.
why the BS flag on windshield tint?? I know a lot of guys around here that have the windshield tinted. Its very illegal but they have and have never been bothered. A got tinter with a big enough roll can do it one piece and you cann't even see the edges.

Yup. Very true. On a personal not though, I'd never tint the whole windshield. That is almost asking for a accident.
i got 2 layers of 7% tint.one on the inside and one on the outside.it's dark.i called a shop here in indy and wanted a layer of blue tint and they said they would have to take off the outside layer.

whaaaaat?!?!?!?! how do you tint the outside of the window!!!? i dont think so.........
I'm not a fan of tint. My gf's car had it on the back 2 windows and the rear windshield (although badly done; she bought it that way), and all it did was fsck with her and my depth perception (especially at night) to the point where merging on the freeway was downright scary.

That is why my rear window has no tint. What is the purpose? All people will see is the back of your head at most. I only tint the side windows.
