interior swap
Friday, June 22, 2007 10:48 PM
Hey guys and gals I was at the junk yard the other day getting parts for my t-bird and I asked what they would want for an entire interior for a j-body, he said if I took it out only $125. that seems like a steal to me. so heres my plan I wanna get a black sunfire dash and door panels, black cavalier carpet, black cav headliner, a pillars, rear side panels, trunk carpet and backseat. I already have front seats out of a firebird, and a sunfire center council.

Now, am I missing anything, and what is my tool list for tearing out the entire dash?

Thanx in Advance!!!!

125 sounds like a pretty good deal. I paid 20 for just the dash. Your getting rear seats, carpet, panels, head liner....

I can't think of anything you'd be missing. What car are these parts going into? The T-bird?

To remove my dash I needed a philips screw driver, some torx bits, small socket set, larger torx for the air bag, steering wheel puller, large socket to take off steering wheel nut.

It's going into my 97 cavalier, actually I went there looking for t-bird parts and thought i'd ask about my cav. I'm trying to work on a deal for a 95-99 sunfire front end also, but that'll be down the road!

As long as the donor car is 99 or older you will be fine with the parts you mentioned

to use an 03 cluster in a pre 00 car, i think you need to redo all of the wiring, but i'm not 100% on this

yes, to use an 00+ cluster in a 99- car, pretty much the entire car needs to be rewired.

So can I use sunfire 03-05 Dash and door panels, with a 96-99 sunfire cluster? or does that not fit?
