Warning lights on while driving

here's the problem, I've a 96 cavalier 2.2 liter. While driving, all of my warning lights come on and stay on! I have noticed that while these lights are on, i have hesitation when acclerating, and the DRL dash light blinks, and the coolant needle moves back and fourth instead of staying in the normal middle range. I'm completely clueness as to what this problem is. I have replaced all of my sensors, and did a tune-up as well. Please help me. Thanks

your fawked, lmfao. did you by chance hook it up to a obd1 scanner? i'm assuming they didn't start using obd2 until later on. that'll give you a good idea of whats wrong with it, hopefully. if you can get the car to autozone, they should still scan the car for free for you.

From http://www.j-body.org/faq//91/

All cars 96 and up are OBD2

So yeah get it scanned. As to your problem it sounds like your PCM is going into limp mode. Without getting it scanned I don't have any suggestions other than check for loose electrical connections in your engine bay. It definitely sounds like an electrical connection somewhere. Codes will help narrow it down....in theory.

a lot of 96 cars got obd-II systems but obd-I connectors thus making some of them unscannable

good luck

My car may run 18s, but I can do your taxes in 10 seconds flat.
JBO lube - they would never have enough in stock and we'd never see RodimusPrime again

First thing to check is your battery ground (the one that bolts to the battery tray). I've seen that corner of the tray rust off completely causing all kinds of electrical problems. It's a good idea to check your other grounds as well. Last one I worked on like this, I thought the cluster went bad, warning lights would come and go randomly, odometer would go on and off etc. It was all due to the ground cable having almost no connection.

Ditto: Loose positive cable
