Gauging interest -- Stainless Steel Door Sills --

I would like to gauge the interest for Cavalier - Sunfire Stainless Steel Door Sills Plates with you guys... please post you comments

Here is a description of how they would be made:

These are high quality Sills compared to the ones already offered on the market. We've made the door sills out of stainless steel cause aluminum one will scratch right at the first contact with your shoes/boots and that is will get dull with time since this is an exposed area to water and more... they are not the cheap sills sold on ebay that cover about half of your door sill area.

High quality 3M double sided tape is applied all the way around to have a equal cap between body panel and the sill itself and the stainless steel sill are not touching the body anywhere. Long areas with no tape (as you see with the competition) will result in contact with body panel and rust problem will come fast.... no body want to have to repaint this whole area because of a cheap product that rubbed the paint off this area. We want to protect that area!

The lenght is also crutial to a good look and protection when you'll open the door, the sills should blend perfectly with any existing sills on the car... see the Cobalt ones in the pictures bellow, they are 41 inch long and blend perfectly with the OEM rubber sills

The emblem cut into the sills will be the exact OEM one that you'll find elsewhere on your vehicle. It could be

- Z24
- Cavalier
- Sunfire
- or whatever you think of...

We've made some for the Cobalt guys lately and the comments have been really good The sills for the J-body would be pretty similar to the followings made for the Chevy Cobalt's:

http://mrzperformance.vstore.ca/product_in.../products_id/75

We need at least 10 people to make them and we would also like to start it up with a group buy and offer a discount. Price to be determined but should be around $60, the more we are the lower the price...

Please post if you are interested in getting them! we need your input!

Thanks for checking out!

Could you get these so they weren't steel, possibly a black or so?

Because then I'd possibly be in.

So these are just overlays or do they replace the entire sill?
I'd be interested if I could see a prototype of some sort.
But yeah, count me in for a purchase.

How much cheaper if they said nothing at all? I'm sort of a fan of dressup parts with a clean look.

Thanks for your inputs and for the comments.

The first prototypes are in process of being made right now. We will post pictures and more infos when they are done.

We'll offer them for the 2 doors coupe models only at first.

Some cars have the platics black sills, those will have to remove them and replace with the stainless steel pieces.

The only finish will be brushed stainless, you can paint them after you got them if you want.

No emblem is possible but we have no pricing determined yet.

We'll keep you updated!

Yeah whats the hold up on the sedan fans. I want a set to stand out the fact that my 4 door is turbo'd. or rather in the stages of being turbo'd. You know 4-door set maybe saying got boost or turbo with a bowtie. Show the sedan's the love guys

Definietly interested in a set that would fit a 3rd gen convertible (I'm pretty sure but am not 100% positive that our sills are the same length as those in a coupe).
