the car is a 2004 Cavalier 4-door
Ok, well I don't know which of these is the A-Pillar and which is the B-Pillar?
I was reading that to remove these I have to just pull on them.....or atleast to loosen them. I'm trying to remove the headliner in the car.
Also, does anyone have an idea on how to loosen this piece? I hope I don't have to take all these parts off completely to get the headliner off. Could someone clarify this with me.
pic 1 = a pillar
pic 2 = c pillar
pic 3 = b pillar
they a pillar just pulls right off. not sure about the other 2 since i never removed them
ok cool, thanks Stripped....so now i know what's what, just need to know how to remove the others so i can get the headliner out
I think you will have to remove all of those to get the headliner out. It is a lot of work! If you have to do it then yes remove all that molding and unscrew and take off the sun visors and the coat hook to get the headliner out plus the door light over head.
If anyone else knows an easier way let us know.
i know i may have to remove them....my questions is......is there any screws or is it just pulling on all of those?
You may be able to squeeze the headliner out from under the B- Pillars without removing them completely.... But if not, you will have to pop the little cover off the seatbelt slider and remove the bolt...
The C pillars are held in by little clips, the only type of fastener on the c pilar is probably some little push pins that are behind the backseat, at least thats the way it is on my 97... But again, you shouldnt have to remove the pillars completely.. You may be able to slide the headliner right out...
replaced mine in a 01 z24, 2 door though, it only had 5 push pins, the sun visors and the trim on the sunroof, everything came ouit easy.
for the back part by the seat belt I just pulled on it a little and it gave me enough room to slide it out. the sunroof part on the other had was a PITA!
had to remove the entire sunroof.
I hope the 4 door is simular
not to thread jack but to remove the headliner piece for the sunroof there are four little pins that you push in to take it out just have to have the sunroof open to get to them
He has a sedan, though, so he wont have a sunroof...
that would have worked a little better, I didn't know how to get it out and I had to do the same thing at pick-n-pull to get it out(no power), I am going to have to see if I could have gotten it out that way, oh well, it looks good now
oh ya, I know it is a sedan, I was just talking abou what I had to do, I don't have a 4 door to try it on.
then again, I can always go to pick-n-pull, haha
ok thanks guys....i managed to get it out....only broke 2 clips lol
