I have put one in my brothers 04' cav. Get the ignite one. Fits really good into the cig lighter. I believe it is only four wires to splice into on the column. I just used my Chilton to find what wires to tap into.

other than the ignition switch going, i dont get why so many people want to do it. It simply adds an extra step. you get in, sit down, buckle up, turn the key.... THEN after you turned the key, you proceed to push another button. I don't get it. Someone enlighten me.

On the other hand....you have other fingers.

ya...the only reason he wants one is because his buddy has one in his stang

Break the key off inside the switch, lol!

If I were going to do it, I'd get one of those illuminated buttons.

Then I'd wire the ACC line through my wireless remote on a toggle line. When I walked up to the car, I could click the button that would turn on the ACC line, and make the switch glow. Then when I'd get in, I'd push the start button and the engine would crank. Another push on the wireless remote would kill the engine and prevent unauthorized people from starting it.

As far as the theftlock stuff, I haven't really messed with it, but I'm sure it's not too hard to bypass if you already have the key and can read the resistance.

what you could do is... get a directed 555l to learn the resistance of your passkey, set that up to a negative ground from a keyless system . . make sure to have your accessories turn off while cranking.. have that same keyless system run relays to your 1st, 2nd ignition, 1st and second accessory wires.. then run a seperate relay to be triggered by pushbutton to your starter wire

or you can bypass the whole thing by just turning your key.
