The sunroof in my 98 fire only opens about 2 inches and wont move past that. Is it stuck or is it not ment to open fully? I tried pushing on it but nothing happened .
any advice is appreciated.
manual sun roof with the little clampy thing? yeah 2 inches is all you get. and a fancy window to watch the clouds

it not manual though its a power sunroof.
sometimes heat will warp the roof just enough to keep the sunroof from opening up all the way-but when it cools off outside it should be ok-my dads 00 Z does the same thing, or possibly your car was wrecked and tweeked a tad.
My 99 will sometimes not open fully, your motor could be going out possibly, or even the regulator assembly might be missing some teeth or a part of however it moves the sunroof.
Run-on sentence much? lol
Thanks for all your hel. Maybe ill wait till it gets cooler at night and hope it has nothing to do with the motor.
the moon roof in my brother-in-laws 99 does the same thing, except seems to work better when its warmer and not so much when its colder (like early morning colder vs sitting in a work parking lot under the sun all day warmer).
havent had time to look at it yet, but im assuming motor or some slip in the regulator.
