hi there i was wondering if anybody knows if anyone makes a carbon fiber headliner, i searched and all i could find was a post about some one who made a carbon fiber cover for the sun roof cover. i would like that as well but i thought someone was actually mass producing it
thanks
Ive never heard or seen such a thing....you could be the first
Could of sworn Chris Laverty had a custom made CF headliner a long while back...
yeah he did....he made it himself from yellow/black carbon kevlar
the headliner itself I'd have to agree with Laverty...
however the sunroof "slider" itself that was....that was........damn I don't remember his name now
. I know he made it himself and it looked pimp! Anyone remember that post a while back?
well thanks guys i just couldve sworn such an item existed but i guess not, would have been i want to do the interior in carbon fiber, but i sure dont have the skill set to do the headliner
go to topshopcarbon.com. they may be able to help you out. They do headliners for eclipses, hondas.....just let them know what your looking for and they may be able to do one for a cavalier. it's worth a shot. I'm trying to get sponsored by them right now. they do incredible work, i've seen it before in an eclipse. Topshopcarbon.com.
good luck with that. most places dont like doing custom c/f work.
How would you physically get it in the car, though? I like the idea, but it'd be (black) fiberglass for this kid

he was asking how would you get the headliner in the car, not how would you get in the car.

it appears so.... i noticed the "it" right after i hit the post button
makes prefect sense!! hahaha i knew angen orange knows his stuff.... which why i was confused with him asking such a question. when if fact reading>me!! lol
you would be able to get it in...just remove the rear panels in the back seat as well.
here's my cf sun roof slider. not actual cf just the wrap but looks very decent. material was folded so in time you won't be able to tell. fairly easy to do only hard part was gettin the slider out.
Lol...no worries! Well, I've never taken my headliner out, but I remember doing one in my winter rat and you did have to semi fold it to get it through the doors. Then again, that was a 4-door. Coupe might be a little easier.

Yes, it's my REAL car. No, it is NOT photoshopped or "this is how my car will look someday". It's the REAL DEAL.
I never had to fold my headliner to put it in my car when i swapped out colors.
