i have a 91 sunbird convertible, and all of a sudden my interior/dome light wont turn off., even when the door is shut and the car is started, also my seltbelt light stays on, i pulled the fuse and it goes off (obviously lol)....then if i wait like 30 minutes, and put the fuse back in it works until the next time i shut the car off and open the door, any ideas and wtf is happening lol

Could it be the switch by the door that is stuck? I've seen that happen before.

same thing happened to me before.

BS. Its at the front of the door, mounted onto the body of the car...its a large metal pin with some rubber surrounding that is probably dried out and about to fall off completely...

ya ik thats wat i thought, but nope its in the lock assembly, when ur door shuts and contacts the rod on the frame that ur door locks on to (best way to explain it) it grounds out the circuit showing that the door is closed, i went to the dealer they said the grand prix, and sunbird convertibles were the old cars around the time frame (91-96) i guess that used the way, they told me it was somewhat experimental to see if it was worth doin like that...needless to say pain in the ass to fix, i just cleaned it and its workin good now
