1) price varies from different places and locations. call and get estimates
2) imo if the car didnt come with 1, dont get 1. theres a good chance it will leak

500 for a low ball.

Up to 1200 for a good setup.

I priced it out near me in CT a few months back. Not worth it IMO

the one on my sunfire is aftermarket. works fine now, but it did originally leak and the motor went out on it while the previous owner had it. both have been resolved though.

turn the key off, push the button before it starts to close, or you can wait and stop it while closing.

no my car did not have a sunroof in it when it was made from the factory. the dealer cut the hole, and put it in. I dont know the price because it was installed before i bought it. I love my sunroof.

I hate my aftermarket sunroof.
I love the concept, but i hate the leaking.

When i bought the car, i specifically asked:
Me - "Since it is an aftermarket sunroof, is there any leaking? because i have heard of people getting them and then getting rained on two weeks down the road."
Kid - "Nope, not a single leak so far."
Me - "How about the trunk? i see that the spare tire particle board is warped, and i just had a car that had a leaky trunk and it sucked."
Kid - "Nope, doesn't leak at all. It is just warped because I used to wake board and the water from the wake board afterwards caused it to warp."
(Two weeks later I have a garbage bag over my seat whenever it rains, and i re-seal the tail lights becuase the sub woofers rattled the tail lights just far enough out so when it rains water was filling my spare tire wheel well)

My conclusion after my long ramble:
Be careful with aftermarket sunroofs, i have had a bad experience.

thats not my car, thats phewes old car. they run about 500 bucks from streetbeatcustoms.com. i believe the size for our cars is 36"x36" (or maybe its 35x35 but its 1 of them). you can do it yourself by cutting a big hole in the roof or take it to a shop.

Yesterday i called a local sunroof installer and the prices are really good in my area. I have been wanting one myself for some time.

Basic Manual Pop-up $250+tax installed

Electric Sunroof $700-899+tax installed depending on brand and features

Ragtop $800-1100+tax depending on brand

Moonroof 800+tax

All come with warranties and extended warranties if purchased. Also, they come included with aftermarket headliners. Finished within a few hours if brought early they said.

I yanked this from google

Quote:

"sunroof" is the term originally used to describe a metal panel that would only allow light or air in when opened. A "moonroof," on the other hand, is a glass panel that can allow light in even when it is closed (provided, of course, you slide back that nifty fabric-covered panel to expose the glass).

True sunroofs, those made just of metal, appear to have gone the way of 8-tracks in automobiles, and these days, most "sunroofs" are really "moonroofs" -- panels of tempered glass, usually tinted, that tilt up to allow a flow of air, or slide back into the roof entirely, giving the car occupants a brief but tantalizing glimpse of life in a convertible.

Being someone who has two cars with sunroofs and one thats a convertible...I much prefer my cars with the sunroof. Not only are they lighter then the convertible, but you can also open and close the sunroof while driving without having to pull over. Also someone slashed the top on the convertible, and they are NOT cheap to replace. Also the convertibles have a tendency to leak alot more prematurely then a sunroof.

Thats my take on it.
