that should look good, should kinda look like alot of the toyota's and lexus's witht he darker displays, you would likely have to have your running lights on all the time to see though.
but it should look good

I have a friend that did it and was thinking of doing it myself.

well thats why i just wanted just a light smoke over the white it should show through enough, then at night it will just tone down the glow gauges

Yeah the Sunfire gauges are a direct fit, but not for the PCM. The electrical system in the Cavaliers don't like the Sunfire gauges.

I did one cluster with Night Shades and hooked the inverter on the indiglo's to ignition power so they were always on.
I liked it for a while, but decided to go digital. I did it from the back of the lens so it wouldn't get scratched.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe all 00+ gauge clusters are swappable. As for what my friend used to tint his.. no clue.

Re: tinted gauges

i just remembered my buddy did his with the green metalcast paint, its transparent so it actually looks pretty good, i also used the metalcast paint to make my stock tails all red, works pretty good. and yea im also gonna do the tint from the back, and i might also try to wire in the glow with the ignition, thanks for the help so far guys, i should be tearing into it tomorrow if its not crappy weather ill post pics of the finished product

i believe shadowfire is right about the 00+ all swapping, atleast from what i have read i havent tried anything like that so im not 100%sure

to get the info correct....

2000-2005 are direct swaps

1995-1999 are not........ as in the wiring harness plug is different, as well as the size/shape of the cluster

Re: tinted gauges

^^^ thats what i thought, thanks for clearing that up bro. not to mention ,all the OP (me) wanted to know was if any one had tinted there gauge cluster and if anyone had pics lol, the weather outlook for tomorrow seems promising, so as soon as i get back from the wifes Dr apt. ill get started

Yeah thats what I said. Except the for the 2005 Cavalier (as far as I know) it's not capadable with it (electrically).

My buddy did the swap in his 2005 Cavalier and after having some electrical issues he took it in to the dealership and GM told him the sunfire gauges WILL NOT work with his PCM.

You could use the smoke metalcast, nightshade, or window tint. The smoke metalcast usually gives more of a gray tint than a black tint. I used the smoke metalcast to tint my turn signal housings, and the amber/orange metalcast to tint my clear front sidemarkers.
