Hey does anyone know on average what a top insert for a 97 cavalier center console sale for? like from a junk yard, more or less than $100, I don't need the whole console, just the top piece that is screwed in.
or does anyone know if a newer center console would fit in a 97 like an 05 or something?
or even a sunfire console, I've heard from some people that they bolt right in and from others that there's cutting involved.

sunfire top wont fit in a cavalier base, although you can swap a full console in. i dont believe the 00+ top will fit on a 95-99 base though. but if you go to a junkyard and they want more than 100 bucks for half of a console....? slap them in the face!
you can get a full console for NO MORE than 40 bucks, and thats a high price. a u pull it would run you about 10 bucks for a full console

that's very cheap cuz junkyards I was calling wanted like around $100-$120, for a newer cavy console.
I would like to find one in a charcoal/black color, cuz I can't paint at all, and I'd just mess it up.
that one would be perfect, but I want to avoid ebay at all costs, I live by some junk yards, so I called them and they said that they have plenty of wrecked cavaliers and sunfires if I want to come take a look, they said they won't be anymore than $50 if even that.
I also have another question though, my console lid matches my interior perfectly, I was wondering if I could swap in my lid for a console say...out of an 05 cav or fire?, it looks a little taller but I'm not sure.

call around, some junkyard will charge you almost as much as if the item was new, and some will give you tons of stuff for free. i got half an interior minus the seats for 60 bucks before.

i have a center console for an automatic and will sell it to you for cheaper than that ebay auction.
alright guys I got it all figured out, I went to this other junkyard today and got a new looking console from a 2003 Cavy for $25, very good price.
