hey guys
I was trying to get the console out of my 03 caavalier auto. I got the 4 bolts out easily, the onlything that was stopping me was the shift knob. Are there special tools to take this off?special techniques or whatever?any help would be appreciated!
there should be a little c-clip holding it in on the backside (towards the radio). its in a little hole or slot in the shift knob. get a small flat head screw driver and pry it out.

i think the manual knobs screw on ? (maybe) the auto has a clip in the front u just pull out with a flat head
the 95-99 has the clip. 00+ just twist off. it takes some effort but it does come off.

twist off just like a nut on a bolt? I tried that i`m just afraid if i twist to hard im gunna bend the brackets underneath etc.ill go out and look for a clip like the other guys said but i`ll always try this again
My 2000 shifter knob has a clip on it and so did the other 2000 console I just removed and sold, might want to check before you go pulling at it to be sure.
i have an 03 an i just pulled up and twisted... its like a blue plastic underneith the knob to hold the knob onto the stick.
