I already have a 2 pillar gauge but want to add one more.
Is it better to just buy a new 3 pillar gauge or can I get away with just buying a single pod?
Pics if anyone has it would be appreciated.
it really depends on how you want it to look. if you just buy a single to make your double into a triple you have to deal with the look of a 2 piece pillar. you can get triple pods for a decent price so i'd personally go with a triple.
itll look better to buy a 3 gauge pillar and sell the old one
I think a 2 + 1 arrangement would look like an afterthought when a lot of people would know 3-gauge pods are available.

why not be creative and put the 3rd gauge in a different spot?
mirror plate, gauge bezel, cluster, console, dash, etc etc
thanks the single is now the double so really its the same one
Just add another like I did to the two that are already there.
It's pretty seamless if you do it right.
Here's a couple of pics of what I did.
Remember too, I'm not driving a show car but one that is of function rather than show.
You can see that the top pod is the one that was modified off of another two gauge pod. I basically cut it down and grafted it onto the other tow pillar pod.
Not bad for getting what I wanted with the gauges.
Anyway, good luck with it and hope it works out for you.

2001 Chevy Cavalier (Sandrift Metallic) 8 OHV of raw fury!
that looks awesome all lit up
Yes it does, nice setup man.
I've still got to get my wideband gauge and should then be done with gauges.
Now it's time to install a couple in the daily driver, the Toyota.

Nice glowshift gauges. Im getting the glowshifts as well. Should be here anytime now
BTW sleepy, can you capture a vid of the opening ceremony of the gauges? I wanna see it !
Opening ceremony? I'm not sure i knowwhat you mean?
^ Guages lighting up I'm guessing?
the opening ceremony is nothing special on the glow shift ones. they startup on the color you selected last and the needles sweep over the gauge.

It would look nice if they all do it in unison. If the timing is off, dosent look as nice
