I want to gut out all of my interior to make my sunfire lighter. What do i keep in? besides the obvious like the seats and stuff/..........
You're joking, right? If this is a street car, you're going to look like a complete idiot
yeah if its a street car your really not gonna feel the difference. youll just look dumb and not have nice stuff in your car. the most i would do is not add a system. maybe get some racing seats. and lighter wheels will be the biggest difference carbon hood/trunk just replace heavy parts with light parts.
i gutted my entire back seat in my four door, got motegi trak lite's and im making over 600 kms on a full tank. feel a huge difference in acceleration. may look "stupid" to some, but saves me gas, and adds performance, so who cares what it looks like.
gutting most of your interior in the car is going to net you maybe a 100lb loss which equates to a whole wopping tenth of a second in the quarter mile. the amount of fuel saved and amount of performance is likely do to the lighter wheels, not the weight you loss guting it.
seriously unless this is a serious racer dont make yoru car look like crap just to say you gained 4hp. from it. adding an intake will do more for performance then pulling out a seat and a few plastic pieces.

I can assure you i pulled out far more than 100# when i gutted my 02. 2 seats, cross car beam, HVAC, case and cluster, IPC, and radio were all that was left. The car actualy lifted a fair bit in the rear and a little in the front from the weight removal. Just my carpet and sound deadener were close to 100#. I couldnt believe how much deadener was in the car.

Someone's trying to justify their stupid decision to gut their street car.
