Anyone know where I can get the GM tool or part number for it so I can remove my panel? Or is there another way without damaging anything? Thanks!

There's way to do it without, but you can get the tool at Autozone etc. for like $4.

Another thread about this.

i just used a flat head. pulled the handle back and looked down there, saw the U clip (which faces up) and i just pushed down on one side of the clip with the flat head.

use a hand towell or a t shirt its free and easier than the tools. Just insert and move it side to side, it will come right out

x2 I've used the screwdriver and shirt method and, while the shirt method is pretty easy, the tool is the easiest and it's only $5.

Just wrap a rag around the window knob/handle and you will feel it grab and just pull the rag. The clip will stick to the rag when it pops off, sometimes. I have the tool but i don't use it cause i find the rag trick works better and faster.

Butter knife works too, but be careful not to scratch the panel.
