I guess i just acquired a sunfire cluster in a trade off for some springs, since my odometer no longer works in my 04 cavalier, my hvac control thingy is also broke, so i ordered a new one from GM and i ordered it for a sunfire so it would match the new cluster, so now i have red cluster and red HVAC, do the window switches glow red in the sunfire also? if so i guess ill go pick up some from the local junkyard. unless they arent the same, I am pretty sure the window ones are the same thought.
i searched a few variations of sunfire interior lights and didnt really come up with it.

also, what about the radio? that will be the only thing not glowing red. does a sunfire unit pop right in? i didnt search that one yet, since this thread is already open thought id throw that in also.
well after searching. ill have to take it to the dealer and get the sunfire one unlocked eh? ill see the cost of that.
but the one question still remains about the window switches
Get an aftermarket deck that glows red, I have a middle of the road sony deck that gets the job done and glows red to match the rest of my sunfire parts.

i wanna keep everything stock GM parts.
I would try asking about the radio in the Audio & Electronics Forum. You would probably have better luck in there.

Methinks Sunfire deck is smaller than Cavi. Not for sure. Mine is definitely smaller than the one in our Trailblazer and it appears is the same as the Cavis. Maybe years matter. Idk. Id check that out before you order.

The monsoon deck is part of the "premium" sound package, it is paired with an amplifier and "premium" speakers. I personally don't know if it is worth getting the monsoon deck if you don't have the amp and speakers that are suppose to go with that sound package. Might as well just go with the standard MP3 deck.
yea, i just wanna get the standard Mp3. no need for all the monsoon stuff.

Can someone post pics of the sunfire window switches? The ones in my car are shorting out or something (sometimes the window will go down but not back up) so I almost want to replace them with sunfire ones if they glow red when I get around to figuring out the problem.

On 95-99 I can see this, 2k+ require the TEC2.

2k+ to 2k+ all will swap. I had a stock '01 Sunfire deck with EQ in my '01 Z for some time. Same size also.

I have no pictures, but they are identical minus the plastic is gray, red lighting.
hey joe, your saying the 2000+ will swap without a problem? or will i still need a GM tec2 to unlock it?
my junkyard will trade decks and window switches straight up, so ill do it this weekend.

I'm saying plug-and-play and size wise they will. Seemed to be some clarity issues on that so I was specifying.
You'll still need the TEC2 to unlock it for your vehicle. Even the base/generic deck I put in the car when selling it required such. My dealer charged around $40 for such.
i would totally do 40 dollars to keep it lookcing stock.

Most dealers will just toss out figures for work like such, so don't be afraid to bargain with them!
