After 230,000Km of driving, underneath my front seat looks like this.

Now those metal strings (correct name?) got detached from the metal frame, butt support has been weakened significantly.

How do I go about fixing this?

I say just get a new seat. The only other way i can think of fixing it, isnt worth the trouble.

That my friend is a case of "Too much junk in the trunk". Buy new seats.

Same thing happened to my seats from the previous owner when I got my cav, took them to a local upholstery shop to see what they had to say, and we'll...they told me to win the lottery lol. Just grab some new seats, I snagged mine out of a car at a wrecker yard for 5 bucks for the both of them and they had covers on them, so the material was just about brand new, and the car they came off of was 9 months old.
