Finally installed my new engine
Sunday, May 22, 2005 6:29 PM
Well after sitting in the shop for about 2 months, the engine finally made its way into the car yesterday. I spun a bearing in the other motor, and after talking to a bunch of people, replacing the engine was the better route to go rather than rebuild. I installed a new water pump and oil pump, tensioner, and whatever else was a good idea to go ahead and replace before I installed it. Also cleaned it up all pretty and painted and polished a few things myself, as well as doing a color change in the engine bay since it was black before. But yeah, pretty much stock for now, but at least it looks nice I think.

We didn't start it up yet, but that will happen tomorrow. Big thanks to my friends Bill Evans, John Robertson, and Chris Henry, as they all had their hands in on this, gotta give them their props.

So on with the pics, its not completely done and there is still some little custom things I'm gonna do, but I'll let them do the story telling from here.

I had the same thing done...I shattered a rod bearing, got into my oil pan and messed everything up. Gosh that was EXPENSIVE! I had GM do it too They got alot of money, lets just put it that way...

my engine blew up and i got a 2.4 jasper engine put in in 2 days for 1500. If you went to the dealership that is why it was so expensive. It feels good to get your car back i could only imagine not having t for 2 months. looks good

Thanks for the comments guys. Well I got to work on it all day today, was really slow at the shop so I got lucky. Most of the day was spent cleaning, rewiring the headlights, and polishing some other things. But we did get it started. It of course was a little rough for the first couple of minutes, but overall it went really well, started right up the first try. There were a couple of leaks that sprung up, and was overheating a little, but nothing major. I should be able to drive it tomorrow.
