Yes, the infamous j-body cracked dash. Mine has become a lot larger recently, so I took a pic of it.
As you can see its actually two cracks and a third one is forming... my dash kicks ass!!
haha, so how bad is your dash?
I work on Wall Street, but didn't force you to take out a loan you couldn't afford.
mines a 96 and when i took it out last month to put in my sunfire dash it was still completely uncracked...perfect shape
is that from the plastic drying out? Mine has yet to crack (knock on wood) and my subs make the dash move violently.. hmmmmm? Wonder why that happens?
I don't know... I know a lot of people have the same problem. It does spend all day outside in the Florida sun during the summers.

i have one crack and second one about half way
My 96 cav hasnt cracked at all but my 2000 cav has about 3
It's a four banger, you gotta bang it four times to get it goin'....
my 96 has none. maybe the newer plastic was made cheaper.
zero.. treat your plastic nicely and it wouldnt happen

My 97 was cracked for a loooong time...
I got fed up with looking at it- so I wrapped that piece in black tweed... Then, i had to do the entire car.

my 2000 cracked 3 months after I bought it. Been cracked all the way across since. right in the middle
i dotn know much about the cacked dash especially since i have a fire but couldnt you just fill/repair the gap with say epoxy? wouldnt look perfect but it wouldnt be a crack

I've thought about trying something like that
I work on Wall Street, but didn't force you to take out a loan you couldn't afford.
my buddy 95 has none the other bud 1996 has none my 96 = none my other buddy 98= none
my uncle 99 and 2000 cracked my aunt 2002 cracked,my friend uncle 2003 cracked
looks like teh 99+ have the cracking problem
Thats right where mine is, and the left crack is where my new one is forming. blah. Theres no point in trying to repair the part cuz it will expand and shrink in the sun and shade.
my 99 cracked twice (2 different panels, one replaced under warranty). my 05 is still there (but only 3000 miles old)

lol its all fixed now...
that was from when circuit city installed my radio... EFFED it up
I thought it was an accessory belt bolt or something to tight that caused vibes across the front to do that...
mine is a 97 it is fine !
it is the bolts , i loosened mine up just a little before it cracked !
