Well i've got an ecotec engine and i would like to shine it up somewhat before there is some oil around my oil cap what do you guys use to clean an engine bay that woudln't hurt it?

I use Motomaster Engine Cleaner. You just have to spray this stuff all around, then wait ~15 mins and rinse.

Simple green then armor all with the engine wet and clean. Let the armor all "soak" in. Your engine bay will be shinning in no time.

do i spray armor all delibrity over the entire engine bay? even the idi cover?

best thign to do, take plastic shoping bags, cover up your battery, intake, alturnator if you can. leave the engine dry and saok it dorwn with "engine brite" (use a full can) let it sit for about 10-15 minuets, then go over it again (with another full can) and use a plastic long bristle brush to lightly scrub down what you can, let it sit for another 5-10 minuets once your done scrubing and then use a steam cleaner if you have one available, if not just use a hose (use nozzle that you can adjust and make it a mist, no direct stream of water) use compressed air if you have it to dry it if now use a towle where you can then just let it drip dry for a while (hour or so, just wash the outside while your waiting) once all that is done go over all the hoses and plastics, and sires with CD2 engine detailer..... the entire engine bay will be blingy liek you never knew it could

I just wet the entire bay.. spray down with simple green.. let it sit for a couple minutes.. rinse and repeat. I have to use a rag on my intake cause the water spots are tough to get rid of
