Niiiice, can you explain the preperation for engine bay painting? Probably the same steps as painting the car huh, did u use high temp paint or primer for the engine?

Mark you've seen my car before of course

well my engine bay prep consisted of power washing my bay with a degreaser

then i got out the air grinder and wire wheel and clean up all the rust and took a scuff pad to the rest of it

masked it

took a cleaning solevent for auto refinishing called final clean and wiped all the dirt grease and what not that was left still in

I bought this rust stuff for my spray gun and sprayed all the bare metal works good used it on my subframe i got sand blasted

let that flash and i sprayed some primer sealer over the entire bay (having the whole bay gray was still cool compared to what it was

let the sealer flash

then i sprayed color i used nason single stage paint so it was a nice hard finish

by the way thats daytona blue of the 350z's i love that color

if have any other question feel free

ill post up the rest of my bay later im puttin the conrol arms and everything back in tonite all looks brand new now

Thanks for the explanation. I want to do this before I do the motor swap in the spring.. Did you wet sand it, or are you not gonna bother with that since its the engine bay?

no i didnt i didnt really have to wet sand because there really was no major body work or anything and the primer sealer i sprayed on was very smooth

plus as you said it is an engine bay and a majority of will be filled back up
