WOW theirs a @!#$load of damage to that ... goodluck
Team Altered Car Club
Damn that is crunched, hope all goes well. Looks like a good project
yea she's hit pretty good, but motor and tranny didn't get any damage at all car runs so woo hooo
not only is it totaled, but it is a Base Model? I don't get it, the money and time put into makin it right you could buy one new, not smashed. Regardless of who works where, the time is still there in fixing it. Good luck.

well it sounds like his body work is going to be basically free. looks like a fun project, good luck.
body work, frame work, paintg labor are all free- there for this is alot cheaper then buying one brand new

considering he is reusing body parts from his old cav, the only money involved would be replacing that front metal piece under the bumper (a $10 junk yard buy), and then fixing the radiator and coolant system. He said the car runs, which means the motor itself is fine. probably just needs an intake manifold and some coolant parts. looks like a fairly easy fix to me since hes got the body parts already. and besides, who cares that its a base model, the 04 base models have the ecotec, so the only thing he's missing out on is power options and a sunroof. which he obviously doesnt care about.
all i gotta say is project, are u doin any of the work, or havin everyone else? i hope u, beter feeling knowing u built it, lol,. anyways cool

Adam- yea ur rite, the radiator support is junk along w/ the front frame rails which all that will be replaced and it's no big deal considering that the front underbodies of the cav's are the same from 95-05 .
I might start tearing into it tomorrow so if i do i'll get ya guys some better pics
thats odd
i was just in sturbridge, ma to get my car (was towed last night, snapped a timing belt) and a red cav was totalled there too, looked almost exactly like that
I've seen some bad hits repaired before, but I wish you luck. Looking at how that battery/intake/fuse panel are pushed up makes me sick thinking about the actual structure underneath.
the over all structure isn't bad yea i've seen far worse fixed as well. If the car wasn't safe then i wouldn't bother fixing it
Doesn't look too bad. Like you said since u get all the labor for free its worth it. If u don't mind me asking. How much did u pay for it?
nice! gonna be a fun project. and even better, you'll have a 5 spd eco when your done!!
thats gonna look bad ass when your on the road with everything you got planned.
good luck with everything.
this is you buy another half car and wekld that bastard in. there is too much damage for fixing. my dad and i have done a few. looks like the motor is push right against the firewall. gooluck.
maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow....... but some day
I saw the first pics and I just thought unlike the people above... "wow, thats not very much damage."
Thats a good way to transport it, we had to push it/pull mine up a trailer and that way looks a bunch easier.
When I did mine it was a crap load worse than that and what main things did I learn from the whole experience???
1. drilling spot welds with regular bits sucks majorly
2. dont drill towards urself - lol
Looks like a good buy - how much was it if i can ask???
-Seth
