check out what i made! i realize its not perfect and has a few mistakes (for all you nitpickers) but all in all, i think it looks good. best part? its not viewable from outside the car (as an A pillar pod is) and, it flows REALLY REALLY well w/ the interior. im gonna fix it up later (as i ran out of vacation time), and add some grain to it, but i didn't feel like buying a $15 can of texture coating when my friend has one for free. after all the materials, this thing definitely was more expensive than i thought it would be. but overall, im happy

That is pimp man. Nice job.. but i have to admit.. i like the gauge pillars that people can see.. lmao.. dunno why.. just like when u can see them at night along the a-pillar.
Nice originality, i like the location alot, and where can you buy this texture coating? Oh and i did a double take when i realized what the gauge was for
i'm lovin' it!! way to think out of the box!! really good idea!!!
if u start making them i'll buy one
I'd buy one to if you started sellin em
if it ain't broke...MAKE IT GO FASTER
manta, i bought a single pod for the pillar, and A) it didn't fit well (at least, down by the dash, it fit fine up near the headliner) and B), it just didn't look right imo. maybe its just cuz i've had the idea of doing the pod in the corner for a while now, that i was a little biased
laffy taffy, there's a product by Inter-Tex (i think?) that does the coating, and SEM also has a can called Texture Coating.

larry, due to my time constraints and the amount of time i put into it for this "small" piece, the only way i'd sell these is for like 200 bucks lol. much better tryin it yourself first, or, buy an autometer pod (that are relatively cheap)
actually, dont try it yourself. dont be a copycat

Bah... i would much rather have a gauge with the needle pointing the other direction...
Looks great!
very nice, its as if its ment to be there. anyways, got any good pics of your car in daylight?. ive seen it but theres not enough light to show its true beauty.
looks good but is it easy to see while driving? looks like its pointing down a little
its a boost gauge for a supercharger.. do u REALLY need to see it that often while driving?
in all honesty, the gauge is off by a few degrees. when looking at it, you can see the full spectrum, but you can tell that if it would have been a few degrees higher, the face would be a little more perpendicular with your line of vision.
that said an done, the angle is NOT easy to get due to the way the triangle fits on the door. any higher, and the pod would have looked completely odd due to the way it mounts to the door and the way the front part of the pod is in relation to that and the mirror knob. not to mention, the brass nylon tube connector just barely fit, and that's including a 90 degree fitting to make it fit, because if not it wouldn't have. it wasn't easy i'll tell ya.....
