This will be the 2nd 11:1 Ecotec that I know of... gotta love custom order pistons that took wiseco 3 months to make

Break in is usually about a 1000km... at least thats what I'll be doing... although some people believe in the beat on it from the first time it fires... because a true race motor wont live 1000km.

No, its not staying N/A... A buck a litre is bad enough, I cant wait to pay $5 a litre for 118 octane race gas. Oh well... horsepower costs stupid amounts of money...

I guess when this not so little project started 4 months ago I figured I had too much money... I've been flat broke ever since. The eco conversion was a royal bitch thanks to missing parts, parts not showing up on time, a slow ass tranny shop... but the thing is running CEL free (with original LZM Stage II cams!) and feels just a tad bit faster (and much more docile) than my old 14 second LD9... I'll be posting pics of the eco swap hopefully by the end of the month (we adapted my WAI from the HO manifold and a bunch of other little @!#$ like that makes it look kinda ghetto so I'm waiting for all the new parts to arrive before taking pics)

not to get off topic, but what the hell are you talking about for break in?
its just like breaking in a new car
just drive it like you stole it

its more to break in the rings and bearings... the piston has to do is be a blockage to combustion, the rings and beaings are really the only wearable parts in the engine outside of a few seals.

Yea I was wondering that also, probably take it easy the first 500-1000 miles and then pound it, it better not break damnit.

to seat the rings, typically you want to vary the rpms and never cruise at one specific rpm for long periods of time. Basically be on/off the throttle on the highway, or do a lot of city driving to break them in. Break it in with regular oil, change to synthetic at 500, and you should be fine. You can also contact the ring manufacturer for their break-in recommendations. If you want to be really safe, then just take it easy for another 500 after you've seated the rings.
