I just put them on since it was like 35 today, this is a pic of yellow bulbs vs yellow HIDs. The kit I got on ebay was insane, just over 200 bux with McCulloch Ballasts and GE Bulbs.

No HID setup is legal unless they came from the factory with them.

Yeah I know.... My Megan Catback and Pacesetter Header came today. I need the intercooler pump and intercooler for my S/C setup so I can do that all at once. I hadnt planned on intercooling it right away until I popped open the manifold saw the cores already there.

wrong, well where I live anyways........in this case they would be ileagal but if you do it properly and have projector with the light properly aimed then it is fine.

Yellow? It's different alright. Sure will bring some attention to you though. You're doing what I was to my 03 sunfire (s/c, intercooled, HID's) I'm interested to see what you will put down hp wise with that setup.

Good luck and keep us informed.

yep i think a HID is supposed to only be inside a projector. all those diamond cut lenses and stock lenses reflect too much, causing people to not be able to see and thus being very dangerous. but no one cares and i am usually blinded by these a-holes

Wow I like those! Get some night shots already! I'm still partial to my 8000k's tho. I bet those are going to be bright as hell, from what I can see, you dont have a shield or lense to cut back on the light?

In most states, it would still be illegal with projectors. You just probaly wouldn't get messed with for them unless you were already being ticketed for something.

To start, I would put them in projectors right off the bat way better light output etc.

Second to this:

All modifications illegal for headlights, wether properly aligned or not. Sure having them properly aligned with projectors will get you alot less trouble because they arent as noticably dangerous for other drivers and blinding people, but its still illegal.

So much time/money is spent to get DOT approval, that is why there are good projectors premade out already.

Putting HIDs were intended for projectors or a specific reflector housing, not a cavaliers, so it right and you will be much happier with it

I couldnt tell which direction you were going with that but in {A it is illegal to retrofit a car with no HID's from factory with HIDs without a projection lens.. use a lens and hey, it's ok

Well if you have to have a projector than Acura is in for a rude awaking because the CL type S (old ones) and TLs have no projectors same goes for the Lexus IS300. So i think that cop was full of it

Looking forward to seeing all at the Bash. 1st Bash event for me so i'm stoked. Hope to see you all there and meet some of you guys.

see thats where you are wrong, becuase the lights were probably be made for the housing. they arent as obnoxious as people putting 10,000k in their truck and blinding the hell out of people. plus, if it comes from the factory is has to be legal or else it could never be sold.

i would just hate to live where all you guys do because it sounds like cops have a lot of time on their hands if they pull you over for your headlights. i never see that around me. most cops just let you go, unless its soo over the top that you are asking for it.

Mine arent nearly as bright as I thought they were going to be. I just drove them at night for the first time. Also, as many people were saying they are illegal and would be even if they were behind projectors.

yep. but i think you should be ok, i personally hate hids and all those bright lights, (they kill me when im driving at night) There are alot of cars here (new jersey) that have HIDs whether legal or illegal, i guess it depends on the police officer whether you're to be pulled over or not. ..just dont drive behind them..

Re: Yellow HIDs!

I dont understand ppl getting blinded by other cars with HID's....Where I live there are tons of people with HID's whether its from the factory or not and I never seem to have a problem with getting blinded, unless theres or not properly aimed or you are watching them as they pass the other direction then I dont see how.....

now my car being lowered as most of you guys are too, then you probably have the problem when they are behind you and you are perfect height for the beam to hit you rear view mirror........

Also from what I have been told, in ontario the is no written law about not being able to have HID's in a car that was not made that way,,,,,as long as the colour is fine i think 4300K is the highest.....other then that all they could do is claim you failed to lower your high beams because its so bright.......once again if your car is lower you have even less risk as that beam of light will be lower and less likely to blind anyone, especially a cop in high up cop car......here they drive Impala's so they are a lot higher then mine.......rumor has it they will be getting Chargers next.

Oh,,,,and I am not 100% sure on that, that is just what I have been told on a number of occasions from different people,,,,,one is my good buddy who says he asked his neighbour about it (A cop)

so who knows,,,,,either way it doesn't seem to be stopping us....lol
